Hey fam.
today i dont have a ton of time but here goes my email... well last pday after internet i got sprayed by a car with nasty water.. it was special and got my shirt really dirty.. here is a pic.. umm after being in my area for more than six months now i feel like i know everybody or atleast contacted them once.. but we got free chocolate pineapple last week because of that so it was good and by the way who though pineapples grew out of the ground? i didnt but turns out they do and dont grow on trees :P Virgilio and Norma are doing good and he came to church yesterday and she couldnt because she didnt feel well and is 7 months pregnant.. they are really liking our messages though and church movies we leave with them.. they are learning really fast and hopefully will have prayed and obtained a testimony on friday when we visit them again.. he even answered the ?s in the back of the pamphlets and nobody does that! also marriage will be interesting because she is almost 17 and doesnt have papers yet. but we will figure it out.. here is a pic of them.. we had another good lesson with perdomo lemus family but they didnt come to church yesterday.. tomorrow we have a lesson planned though that should be really good.. she asked us last time if we were afraid to die.. and we explained it and shared our testimonies how not really because we know where we are going! it was cool and she felt the spirit strongly.. i did divisions this week with one elder and they went good except he is really weird and annoying.. it was special.. we also did service this week and yeah it was good and i have a sweet giant eagles jersey huh? umm also luis and his mom and sis sent me a letter last week.. those were my converts and fam from canalitos.. they are good and he told me how is blessing the sacrament everyweek and they are still going to church and doing good.. man i love that fam and they want me and elder allen to go eat with them some day after our missions.. haha that made me really happy to hear from them.. also sherrie i got your package.. thanks a lot! i loved the pics and letters.. i am going to try and write yall a letter back soon and send some pics.. umm so on friday night i found out my comp had gotten a cell phone and was talking to his girlfriend he had in the mission.. i had to take the phone from him.. call the zone leaders and he had a phone interview with pres today.. so from fri till today its been special and also on fri night i woke up at 4 and he was outside talking to her.. i am learning a lot though on not getting angry and really trying to listen and help him out.. i am not gonna lie it made me really mad but i tried to and think i handled it in a good way.. supposedly he is doing better though and pres helped him out and we had some good talks.. he just has lost his focus though and wavered a little bit in his faith and testimony.. please pray for him and me.. that he will be more obedient and that i will know how to help him out more.. but yeah umm a lady was having trouble with her husband but after seeing our last movie night she wasnt so mad.. she said it was like an answer to her prayers.. it was cool and it was a little miracle she had and that we heard about.. umm jonathon is doing well and went to chruch and other activites.. rogel and dominga have to go to church now.. satan is working hard though so that they cant on sundays.. please pray for them and their papers and baptism.. umm yeah yesterday we had 13 investigators in church!!! it was awesome and the attendance was 117 up 35 from the week before.. we didnt do that activity cause the crap with my comp so we will do it th is sunday.. we played ball today and i did really well.. yall like our paca jerseys we bought? theyre tight huh.. umm and yeah thats about it.. i am doing well just trying to help my comp and work hard and follow the spirit! enjoy the pics and have a great week everybody! i love yall and take care and always follow the Holy Ghost and partake of the sacrament every week cause thats the most important part of our weeks!!
love yall and thanks for everything especially yalls prayers and support! write me back when yall have time cause yalls emails are great too

Dear Fam,
Alright so here goes my email this week.. and fyi i played bball today cause they took the no sports rule away last week.. it was pretty fun but i am rusty and cant shoot well or dribble to amazingly anymore but eh it was fun to play and ill get it back..
im just going to be really tired and sore these next couple of days cause i am getting old.. haha anyway so tomorrow we are going to finalize the activity we are going to do with the ward next sunday.. we were going to focus on references and investigators but we changed our minds and decided it was more important to strenghten the ward first then the next activity focus on investigators.. so we are going to talk about home teaching and visiting teaching.. watch a movie with them and talk about why its so important that they do their visits.. then after we are going to leave with them and visit people.. its been really good here in carcha because i am learning how to work better with the ward and members.. and if i would have done that in my other areas i would have had more success.. its fun though planning with them and trying to figure out best to help the ward and the missionary work.. also last tuesday we had an awesome lesson with an investigator.. we taught her about the plan of salvation and she asked us some reallly good questions about stuff.. she asked us about prayer and how we should do it because it says in the bible that God knows what we need even before we ask.. then she asked us about Christs life and what He did between between ages 12 and when he started His ministry and she had some good questions about the fall.. it was really good though because me and my comp were able to help her out a lot by using the scriptures and after ever answer she didnt have that doubt anymore.. she told us how she doesnt feel comfortable in her church sometimes and how she wants to go with her family to ours sometime like maybe this sunday.. she likes our visits a lot and she really feels like we are helping her and its not just like going to her church and hearing a pastor preach but we answer her questions.. also having read part of Jesus the Christ helped me out in answering her questions and it makes me want to start reading it again and actually finish all the way through.. the district seems to be doing good and in every area there is atleast one baptismal date.. and people are being pretty obedient so thats good and they are working hard.. we were able to put a baptismal date with jonathon the 16 year old kid.. its not till sept 11 but he is excited and left to visit a fam with us the other day, he is going to english class, and getting more involved with the young men.. we are really excited and so is he.. and itll help him out a lot as a person and it will help motivate his family to keep coming to church.. my studies recently have been really good too.. i am study the new testament and Christs earthly ministry and all the things He did.. Then i am reading the general conference talks.. its really interesting and helping my testimony grow about Christ and about our modern day leaders and how they are truely called of God to lead us.. Here is a quote that i like a lot, no pain that we suffer, no trial that we experience is ever wasted. It ministers to our education, to the development of such qualities as patience, faith, fortitude, and humility.. it is though sorrow and suffering, toil and tribulation that we gain the education that we came here to acquire. also i did service last week cutting fire wood and my hand got destroyed.. if i can change computers i will send yall a pic.. in about an our i had like 5 blisters and they hurt like no other.. also we had another really good lesson last week with some less actives.. we watched a new testament video about the armor of God.. then a kid who is about 17 told us how he has slipped up a few times but he knows the church is true.. and he is so gratefuly for Gods mercy and willingness to forgive us.. he started crying and the spirit was super strong.. it was really cool and it made me think how amazing Christ and our Heavenly Father are.. and how that they let us repent of our sins because we sin everyday but through Christ and His atonement and mercy we can be saved and recieve peace and happiness if we only humble ourselves before Him and repent.. our last movie was a success. we gave out sandwhiches and we had 15 investigators go to it.. also during my studies this week i felt like i needed to invite a family to the movie night.. i didnt know who though.. then as the week went on i never saw or felt a prompting to give it to somebody.. then sat morning we went to go visit a family that we had contacted.. her husband wasnt there though so we couldnt enter but i felt prompted to give her an invitation to the movie night even though we hadnt even taught her or met her husband yet.. so i invited them.. and they came! and they loved it and wanted to learn more and see other movies about Christ.. so we visited them yesterday and we told them how our message centers on the family and Christ.. they told us they want us to help them have more peace in their lives and families.. then we talked to them about Christ and they said they wanted to follow Him.. so we invited them to be baptized and they didnt officially say yes.. but they wanted to know what they needed to do to be baptized in our church after they get married. so this friday we are going to teach them and get their marriage set up hopefully and put baptismal dates with them.. they told us they had just moved to carcha and are looking to see what church to go to.. i dunno it was amazing though and i know that the spirit help guide me to invite them to the movie night and then look where things went after that.. hopefully their marriage situation wont be too hard so they can get baptized like they want to do.. pray for them please.. its virgilio and norma... anyway i need to do a better job of looking for Gods hand in my everyday life.. sometimes i pass things by as by chance or coincidence but really things happen for a reason and God is always helping us and watching over us.. sometimes we just have to look a little harder to see how.. anyway like i said the district is good and the work is progressing in carcha and tanchi.. i am really trying to be better leader and get better everday..

thanks for all yall do for me and especially for the prayers for me and my comp..we are starting to do better now and so is the work and our investigators.. anyways i love yall and i still have 10 min left so write me something short if anybody has time!

dear fam,
alright here goes my email for this week... i am little tired cause we played dodgeball so if something doesnt make sense just ask me next week what i meant... alright so that first pic is of me and the fam guzman.. they have gone to church a lot now and like it a lot.. yes marriage is there problem but we are going to try and put a baptismal date with the son whose name is jonathon.. so please remember him in your prayers.. he has gone to church twice and to yms activities.. so yeah thats pretty exciting and i figure if we baptize him it will help motivate the family until one day they can get baptized too! so yeah the new elders and sister are pretty cool and obedient so thats good.. elder cheney who used to be in our district got sent to senahu or aka qeqchi land up in the mts.. he is pretty exciting though and sleeps in a hammock and walks up and down ginormous mts all day.. also when all the new elders came two extra slept in our house..so i slept on the box spring to give one of them my bed.. it was terrible! haha i rotated the whole night from my back to side to belly to side to back again.. it was a special night.. two elders though are kind of disobedient though so i hope i dont have problems with them this change and one is my comp.. he never gets up on time and he likes to talk on the phone a ton.. ive told him though he cant do that but we will see how this week goes though.. he wants me to trust him but i cant if he talks on the phone a lot with who knows who.. i know i am i am suppose to help him but i am not going to tell him what to do all the time.. he is a big boy and i am not his mommy or his babysitter.. sorry for that venting i have to do it.. anyway pray for him though because i need his help and he can be a good misisonary if he just is obedient.. we had an investigator go to institute this week and the teacher talked about how our works and actions need to be celestial works.. or on a higher level then the world.. also i liked how she explained that its true that satan has power.. but he only has power over us when we let him.. so its really simple we just have to have self control and ask God for help and He help us avoid sin like it says in corithians 10:13... well last week a drunk guy chased us.. it was pretty funny and we almost died laughing.. we just tried to give him a pamphlet but he wouldnt take it and so we left and he starting chasing us.. also something cool that we do in our house after working all day is jump into our shorts.. i know it may sound weird but its pretty legit and a lot faster then putting in one leg at a time..

haha missonaries are weird.. this sunday we had 5 people in church so that was good and edin delgado went for the first time with his wife and girls.. he has been an investigator for a long time and his wife is an ex missionary.. we are going to visit them this week and put a baptismal date with him hopefully and maybe now its his time after recieving the missionaries for about three years.. please remember him in your prayers too.. also rogel and dominga and juan and maria cause all of them said theyd come to church this sunday so hopefully it happens and we will do our part so it does happen.. we also have found a lot of news recently without having to knock a ton of doors so i know we have been guided to find them and some of the news look like they could be promising.. like gelmuth that kid who got his gfriend pregnant is really interested and gonna get married and maybe will be able to come to church in the near future.. also i got a cool watch the other day cause my timex died.. it cost me 25 bucks so mom if yall could put in just a little bit of money in my account when yall get home that be good... and yeah thats about it.. i am doing good just tired today but we are working hard and trying to help our investigators come unto Christ..thanks for all yalls prayers and i pray for yall too.. thanks for the constant support and examples yall are to me! i know this church is true and although we have struggles sometimes they are all for our good.. we just gotta keep chuggin along and we will be able to live with Christ and Heavenly Father again.. and eachother.. take care and have a good week!

ps the other pic is of me and the kids who live by our house.. they are funn and ALWAYS outside playing soccer.. we like to talk to them and teach them english every once in a while.. and the other pic is me and irma yolandas kids.. freddy deyna and angel and leticia and sergio.. they hopefully too will come to church this sunday for the first time!! and that kid in the chair is 7 years old.. he is tiny and special same with the kid in the first pic..he is special and cant walk..

hey dad i hope you liked my wood carrying pic last week.. i finally used my head for something other then carry hair!! :] haha

and happy bday bryce!

July 18, 2011

hey fam,
first of all dad happy bday before i forget and sean too and paul i think yours was a while ago and i dont know who else.. cody.. sorry i dont remember bdays very well..
anway we went with rogel to get his papers and supposedly they will be back next month sometime so he can get married.. he is really excited and wants to make changes in his life.. we passed by twice with him this week and he was doing really well and we passed by sunday morning too and he said he and his wife were going to be in church and then they didnt show up.. it was crappy but i still have hope.. we just need to work really hard with him and get him and his wife to have a stronger testimony.. then they also need a fellowshippper or aka a member who can relate with them and invite them to things and share testimony with them.. umm twice last week we visited a qeqchi lady who is less active.. we read in qeqchi with her out of the lix ju lak mormon..
haha we sounded terrible but it was cool to be able to semi speak the language she does so that she could better understand.. umm we had a really good district meeting last week.. the spirit was really strong and we talked about the importance of this work and how we need to open our mouths and talk with everybody.. there is a pic of my district and some other pics that i dont have time to explain but if yall have questions just ask..
we had a fellowship night last week and it was raining and outside and cold.. i thought nobody would come but our good investigators came.. marta virginia and sofia.. all of them bringing multiple kids without their husbands.. they are all so cool but their husbands wont do there part so that they can get married and baptized.. its really frustrating sometimes and hard not to get down when you are working so hard but nobody can get baptized cause of dumb guys.. anyway i am going to send more pics on the part two of this email alright so also we are still doing english classes and that is going pretty well... we have quite a few kids from my area coming to it and participating.. we taught them how to pray in english last week so at the end of the kids prayed in english.. it was cool.. also last week we taught alma 50 1-6 to a family and put goals with them to help them have more famliy unity and things to help them strenghten their testimonies.. it was good but i dont have time to explain the comparison we did.. juan and maria want to get baptized its just that his work on sunday is still up in the air.. they will be really good possiblities though for this change.. his wife said that this next sunday he should be able to come with his wife and two boys.. if thats the case they could get baptized this change cause they are already married and they are pretty quality investigators..
we watched together forver with them which is about families and the trials families have but how through the gospel we can overcome whatever challenge.. and be strengthened spriritually.. it was good and they felt the spirit liked the movie and a lot and we bore testimony and it was a good lesson.. we found a good new this week too.. a 20 year old who got his wife pregnant is going to marry her because he knows he should after doing something wrong.. wowwwww its a miracle to see that happen in carcha.. haha sorry for that sarcasm but if yall only understood how ridiculous it really is... but he asked us a bunch of questions and we answered everything with the bible and bom.. he liked it and a lot and we are going to pass by with him again.. he is catholic but doesnt have a testimony of that church he is just following the wicked traditions of his fathers like it says in the bom.. haha we will see what happens with him.. umm that carry wood pic is cool huh.. we didnt carry it but thats how everyone does it in carcha and qeqchi land.. its cool but hurts the forehead a little.. umm so yeah i dont have a change.. i am being positive though and we could have 2 families baptized this change if we do our part and they do theirs and we follow the spirit.. my flying pic from the wall is cool and yeah.. umm church this week was crappy cause no investigators came but itll be better next week.. ummmmm everyone in my district is training but me.. so thats kind of sad cause i wanted to but didnt.. but i know that there is a reason for me to be in carcha.. somebody needs my help and i still need to learn something.. anyway my time is out but i love yall a ton and keep being good and going to church and study the scriptures because Christ will come soon when we least expect it and we need to be prepared.. love yall!

July 11, 2011

Hey.. so today i got a ton of emails and dont have too much time to write but here it goes as always.. so for the 4th we built our fire and roasted hot dogs.. they were pretty good and we also put up an american flag in our house..

sometimes />we say the pledge just to be stupid.. we also had a good fhe last week with some members and investigators.. we made cake then had a lesson then ate the cake.. the lady who is an investigator wants to get baptizes and so does her husband but what do you know they are married either and he lost his papers which makes things ten times harder.. umm also last week we were able to teach the plan of salvation again and it never ceases to amaze me how perfect that plan is and how if we really understand it and use the atonement in our lives it can bring us a lot of happiness and joy.. the investigators also liked it especially about the spirit world and degrees of glory.. most people havent heard of it but like how God is just and everybody will have the chance to hear the gospel if not here then in the spirit world..

mom they finished the dress for you and its really cool and i got corte ties made for all the guys in the family..they are pretty cool too.. we met pres watts and his wife last week.. they are nice and really exciting to be here and work with us.. they have a vision and are changing things up to try and reach their goals.. they are cool and though we still cant play bball i understand why and will make it another 7 months without it..oh yeah and thanks so much for the packages and letter.. jennifer and shayne and mom and dad they were awesome and thanks for the pics too.. i feel loved.. haha and i got one from the jones.. matts dad and mom.. ive been enjoying the candy and sharing it with my other comps..i did divisions last week with the zone leader and he helped us out with some of our qeqchi investigators.. it was good and they opened up with him because they were more comfortable and could speak their own language... so that was good except we found out the marriage problems are worse then we though with some of them.. wooo hhooo.. haha jk but i know i have planted seeds and they are coming to church every sunday so i am doing my part even if they cant get baptized right now.. we taught a really good lesson last week about the BOM and how faith can lead us to see miracles.. the lady had seen a miracle in her life recently with her health and understood our message well and was able to feel the spirit.. she is going to read the bom and we will see how it goes.. she reads and prays with her fam everynight which is really cool.. we just need to help her read the bom because it really can change lives.. because if its true then joseph smith was a prophet Jesus Christ is our Saviour and this is His church..
our park activity was great this week and we talked to over 270 people.. it was really fun and good to switch things up because after knocking doors for so long you need a change.. we had ward conference yesterday.. we had 152 people their but a lot were stake leaders.. but it was a good turn out and we had 10 investigators there.. they liked it a lot and their were good talks shared about families.. anyway also our movie night went well..
wow we have been staying super busy but things are going good.. we have changes next week.. keep praying for me please and my invstigators and i am praying for yall too.. take care and enjoy the summer break! love elder hatch

4th of July 2011

hey family..
happy fourth of july.. anyway here goes my list and letter.. so my first pic is with miguel and his dad.. they are from senahu or where there are a lot of mtns and no electricity.. they dont have money or work there so they came to carcha to work and get money to give to there family.. they were sleeping underneath a govt building outside but then after coming to church a few times the members started helping them out and giving them a place to stay and some food to eat.. they were really cool and we sang hymns in qeqchi with them last monday night in a members house.. the dad is 72 and still working and they make 30 quetzales in one day which is just a little more then 3 dollars and its hard tiring work..
umm so far me and my comp are teaching really good together.. we both give short parts and trade off the time well.. we have had some good lessons and we have felt the spirit and so have the invstigators.. we found a wood bball court in carcha!! but we still cant play bball yet.. we meet pres on weds so thatll be exciting and hopefully he will take away that rule soon.. we also have been teaching a lady named irma and her family.
they are good investigators and want to change and come to our church.. they have gone to a few movie nights but here is the problem.. the husband is a retard.. we talked to him on saturday for the first time and said that we want to meet with him and help him recieve more blessings and to help him have a better more united family... he didnt want to listen to us but he did for about 15 min.. it was the best contact ive ever done..me and my comp went back and forth testifying and telling him that he could see his dad and other families members again even if they have passed away.. he said that he doenst believe that but he believes there is a god.. i told him we were representatives of Christ and we wanted to help him but he didnt want our help but the spirit was really strong and i felt a burning in my chest.. we then asked if his family could go and he said no i am in charge and will say what they do and i dont want them to go.. the dumb guys-husbands here are SSSOOOOOOO DUUMMMMBBB they are holding their famillies back.. they wont let them progress because they dont want to go to church, dont want to marry their wives even though they have kids, or they wont go to church.. anyway its special and ive really learned how not to be good husband here cause they dont treat their wives well and dont help them get closer to Christ.. also in institute this week we learned about how the thoughts we think can make us become good or bad things.. its not like i have a lot of bad thoughts but i really have been trying to do as the teacher said and when a bad though comes into my mind cut it out before it grows.. its really good to think of it that way as a seed and plant because if we let the seed grow then we end up later on doing the bad things or thoughts that come into our mind.. so we really need to be virtous and keep those things out and if they enter change what we are thinking of and fast.. we reactivated another family recently... we went on friday and after the lesson they thanked us for helping them out and they have felt a difference in their spirituality when we visit their house and all the famliy is active again.. its good to feel appreciated and know we are making a difference in bringing people back to church.. also this week both my comp and i had a feeling we should contact a house..
so we did and found a new investigator.. he is 18 and made some really dumb choices in his life but wants to change.. we talked about repentance and yesterday we passed by to see how he was doing and he is a lot happier now..itll be interesting to see how that goes.. we got rogels papers started today so hopefully we will finish the last part this week then get his dpi or indentification in a month or so.. 6 investigators came to church but none of the good ones who could get baptized soon like rogel dominga or juan and maria.. its been raining a ton here recently and we have been sporting boots.. and they way a lot and make us really tired at night .. but its better then a lot of sun and getting burnt..
also mom that family gave me that jacket and another white shirt cause i was soaked that night and they didnt want me to get sick.. haha the people are good here and care about us..and then the next day the guy asked me to bless his grandaughter in church.. like the name and blessing.. i told him that itd be better that bishop or he do it.. it was cool though to have him ask me.. anyway also some of our invstigators are changing and becoming more acceptive and open.. thats been cool to see their changes and little miracles in their lives..

anyway my time is almost up but i love yall a ton.. i will send another email from another computer real quick so you can see our coordination with red white and blue ties and nylons.. anyway love yall and viva los estados unidos
con mucho amor,
elder hatch

June 27, 2011

Dear Fam,
alright.. so last week was pretty crazy and i didnt make a good list of the things i did until today so.. here it goes.. yesterday we had 9 investigators in church.. it was good but the best investigators that we have or the closest to baptism didnt come so that was kind of disappointing.. it was good though to have a lot though and also we still had an attendance over 100 so that was really good.. also some less actives we have been working with came for the first time yesterday.. then we went with him yesterday welll the dad and he has completely changed.. his attittude is completely different and he wants to get his endowments and be sealed to his family.. it was a miracle and one of the biggest and fastest changes ive seen in anybody during my mission. so that was pretty exciting to see and be a part of even though we didnt probably have too much to do with it.. also we were having a pretty good week teaching a lot until emergency changes happened! elder lemus got taken out because other missionaries did stupid stuff and some areas were closed.. that was crappy and i wanted to be with him till the end of this change because we are having a lot of success and we were having a fun time and enjoying things.. anyway so we lost a couple days because he had to go say goodbye to everybody and then leave to the cap and i got my new comp... he is cool and from el salvador.. he is one of the people though who sparked the emergency changes.. so i am trying to be positive but well see how things go..he is a smart kid and speaks engish and deutch because he lived in europe for quite a while but yeah i hope i am only with him for these 3 weeks then he goes or i do... please pray for us.. also with rogel and dominga and there wedding.. we thought we were going to be able to do it fast but the laws changed so getting his papers will be a little harder and itll probably take a month or two if we get lucky.. pray for them too and that we can get their papers and get them to church so when the time comes everything is ready.. also the members want to help them pay for the judge to marry them.. so thats not going to be a problem now.. we did our last movie night and had 15 investigators go.. it was good and for july we are going to plan some other activiites just to swith things up.. any ideas.. let me know please! also hopefully we can do the shoe shining activity this week and get some new investigators through that activity.. prs torres goes home on weds and pres watts gets here tonight.. its going to be interesting to see how the transition goes.. the asistants didnt do divisions with us.. umm hopefully ill be balling it up in a few weeks cause i miss bball a lot.. umm i dont have too much more to say...

we found all those bugs in that bottle in or close around our house.. thats pretty nasty huh? our house is clean but there are a lot of cockroaches.. anyway i am really learning patience here in carcha.. i am thankful for the things i am learning too besides that.. sometimes we dont always get what we want but we just have to be tough and have faith and push through.. keep praying too for juan and maria and also for marta henry and walter.. juan and maria could be close to accepting a baptismal date and they are already married.. anyway i love yall a lot and if yall are on i still have 10 min left to chat.. love yall and be good.. always be sure to study the scriptures everyday to gain a better testimony of this church and of Jesus Christ and all the wonderful things He did for us! love yall,

June 20, 2011

Hey whats up!! anyway i have a lot of stuff to write this week so i will start with the list of things.. and also here are a lot of pics.. ill try to explain them at the end if i have time... ok so last week we did a lot of service.. we took the pieces of corn of the cob.. but dry corn where it hurts to knock it off.. then we also painted a little car thing where a lady sells french fries in the park.. it was fun though and the car turned out pretty cool..
i really have learned to love doing service here in carcha.. also marta and virginia and their kids are going to church and the activities and liking it a lot.. it was really cool to see how much they like it and want to go to every activity there is during the week.. also last week we taught some investigators about prophets and it was really cool.. they understood it a lot and we used examples to help them understand it.. then we talked about joseph smith and how he was a prophen like moses and adam.. they also had seen the jospeh smith movie and are going to pray about it and to know if its true..we are excited to see if they did it and how there answer was..
one of the elders has a step counter and so i used in the other day.. we walked 11,000 steps in just 7 hours.. thats a lot and its a lie that you get used to areas.. every week here i am more and more tired.. but its definately worth it.. we had on friday the fathers day activity.
it was really good and we had 9 investigators go and three families.. it was really exciting and there were acts performed and activities done. they all loved it and felt like a part of the ward.. also we sang cuando ensene a sus hijos.. it was terrible we didnt practice but they still wanted us to sing..

on sat we had service again where we moved dirt and we did it for three hours in the burning sun.. i got toasted then in the afternoon all of our appointments fell.. it was a special day but at the end it was all worth it because we had an appointment with rogel and dominga.. we got the copies of papers to start looking for there papers so that they can get married.. also we put baptismal dates with them for the 16th of next month.. they are excited to get married and baptized too.. rogel wants to get married in the church and invite a lot of people.. i am really exciting to see how it goes and to see if we can get thorugh the paper work fast.. please pray for the them..the lesson we had too with them was really cool.. we talked about how they are taking steps to more blessings and to get eternal life.. they understood it and could feel the spirit.. it made that super tiring day worth it.. and after that we pushed a car about 400 yards and up a hill because it died..
we also left that day in boots so we were beat sat night but it was a good day even though we only had one lesson and walked a ton.. also in church yesterday we had 12 investigators again!! it was awesome and once again they stayed all three hours..

also we had the highest attendance we have had in a long time.. 117!! it was cool and we field the sacrament room and there werent seats left.. also a lot of our investigators have been telling others who have told us that they are mormons now.. a lot have gone twice but now they just show up on there own and we dont have to go and get them and bring them to church.. things are really started to turn around now.. umm also hatch in qeqchi means bite or the intestine of a chicken.. so the other day when we went contacting in a villiage i said i was elder hatch and about 20 qeqchis busting out laughing at me.. it was funny.. an this week we are shining shoes again in the park and having the movie night.. hopefuly things go well and the assistantes are doing divisions with us..

Hey Family,
I dont have too much time this week because i got a lot of emails but ill just tell yall real quick how my week was and what happened.. umm so the districts changed last week and so now i have two more missionaries in my district.. so thats ok but one of them is a missionary that is kind of annoying so i wasnt too excited about that.. umm we talked to rogel and he wants to get married to his wife.. that was really exciting and hopefully we will meet with him soon and start the search for his papers and hopefully they shouldnt be too hard or expensive find.. its been really hot down here recently and i am super tired..

i have 16 months now and walking all day up and down hills gets to you after a while.. but yeah last week i did a baptismal interview for the zls here in coban.. it was cool because that was the first one i have done and i dunno it was cool to be able to help see if somebody was worthy to get baptized and do a convenant with God.. he passed and was baptized on sat so that was cool.. last week we had an ok week.. alot of the investigators we had in church we couldnt visit because they went out of townt this week.. that was kind of a downer.. we had a new fam come to church though on sunday and they want to get baptized but.. they arent married and the husband is still married to another lady so its going to be forever till we could get that all done.. divorce and marriage.. i just love that about guat how nobody gets married.. just the members of the church.. today i ate a donut and then i was about to eat the other one and i realized in the hole part there was a spider web.. it was pretty nasty.. so in sac meeting yesterday we had 6 investigators then after 4 more came.. they all liked it and are getting involved in the relief society activities and hopefully will come to the fathers day activity this friday.. speaking of happy fathers day dad.. thanks for all that you do for me..here is a pic of me and a sub.. me and rogel and his wife. me and my destroyed shoes in the rain where we got completely soaked.. and me at the activity we had last sat.. we had 13 invest. go and they all liked it a lot and better understood the Joseph smith story.. anyway i dont have too much time left but thanks for yalls emails..
keep praying though for me though and my comp and for juan and maria this week. we are going to try and put baptismal dates with them and have both come to church.. please remember them and we are also going to do a special fast this week.. itll be good though and fasting really does work if we do it right and have faith.. well i love yall a ton.. enjoy the summer and be safe.. and always remember to have time to read the scriptures and pray... those really are the important things in life.

Dear Family..
alright so here goes my list again.. i will probably send the email again though in two parts so that if anybody is on or by a computer can write me back with a question ill be able to answer.. sooooo last monday after pday i went to get something out of my suticase.. i opened it up and a rat was in it.. it scared me really bad.. i think i yelled and it was nasty.. i didnt have food in there or anything.. then i opened it up and again and it ran out... we tried to kill it but it was a fast dumb rat and ran outside.. it was a pretty exciting/nasty experience... i learned to zip up my suitcases always and never leave them open.. also this week we found two more new families.. one is a couple where both are 18 years old.. they live together though so we are going to need to get them married but they came to church with us so that was really cool.. also the other family is a couple and their three kids.. they have a lot of good questions and they arent going to a church right now so we will see what happens with them.. also juan and maria got married!! we didnt even tell them they needed too but they did it by there own free will.. it was awesome and maria came to church too this week and stayed for all three hours.. her husband juan wanted too but couldnt.. im pretty sure though he will come though next week.. with our noche de hermanamiento or fellowship night we had a lesson about envy.. it really made me think of how blessed we are and how much we have but also how we are NEVER satisfied with what we have.. we always want more.. we really should be thankful for all we have and take every opportunity to serve and give to those around us who dont have so much or that have nothing at all.. we all envy people but we should be happy with the talents God gave us and we should develop them.. also we had missoinary corelacion on tues. and planned out two more movie nights and we are going to give english classes weds nights.. so we really are getting more help from the ward now and the missionary spirit is getting spread!

also last week was really special in the fact that almost everybody got sick with arrigamortis.. all but one member of our six person district had arrigamortis.. and yes i had it too.. i dont know what happened or what we ate but it was terrible and lets just say we used more then 10 rolls of TP last week..thank you guatemala.. haha also last week i did divisions with the zone leaders.. it went well and i went with the cool one.. also the assistants are going to do divisions with us this change cause president wants to see a stake in carcha.. well i am not too excited to do divisions with them but we will see how it goes.. alright so the exciting news.. WE HAD 12 INVESTIGATORS IN CHURCH YESTERDAY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! that is the most i have ever had.. we had 2 couples three holders of the priesthood and 12 people in total.. it was the coolest church ever and the spirit was super strong during the testimony meeting.. alot of members shared their testimonies in qeqchi so are investigators understood better and then the principles of the gospel class was taught in qeqchi and of all 12 none left early.. they all stayed the three hours and everybody liked it.. it really was a miracle and all of us missionaries shared our testimonies too..i cant expalin how it felt to have so many people in church and the attendance was 106!!! like 20 more then we have ever had.. also the other missionares in the district had investigators too.. it was awesome.. thanks for always praying for my investigators and for me.. here are the name of who i want yall to pray for... mary william ervin sergio claudia concepcion sofia lidia juan maria dominga rogel alex.. thanks.. anyway i am going to send pics in the other email and tell yall what happened with changes.. haha
so with changes.. well there were none.. again.. haha so after this change my comp and i will have been together for 6 months.. i am trying to be positive though even though 4 changes together almost never happens.. a lot of people have told me they feel sorry for me.. my comp is cool but just six months with even your best friend would be too much.. anyway i am excited though cause we are really starting to have success and make progress.. i think we will finally have baptisms this change and break the drought here in carcha.. anyway though i am definitely learning patience though and yeah i guess there is obviously a reason for everything and we need to be together another change more here in carcha.. please continue to pray though for the investigators and us.. anyway i am doing good too and its starting to rain a lot more here.. yeah i dunno i hope yall are doing well though and i always pray for yall too and your protection and well being.. thanks for yalls support and examples too.. take care and ill hear from yall next week!!
