Dear Family,
Whats up? so turns out we didnt have changes again.. haha i am with my comp again and still in the same area.. i am not gonna lie i am not too exciting for this change because i kind of wanted to leave carcha and have a new comp but we are together again for a reason so i will try and be positive and yeah.. haha itll be hard because the longest i was with any comp before this was 1 change.. but we are gonna have 4 and a half months together.. i was gonna vent to yall but i decided not too.. just pray for me and him and our investigators.. thanks anyway so i am gonna go down my list and tell yall what happened last week.. so my first pic is of the moon last monday night.. it was suuuupppper red.. it was cool and kind of scary cause thats a sign of the second coming.. but once it rose farther up in the sky it was normal color again.. also last monday night a family gave us atol chuco.. so ill try and explain in to yall.. so they boil corn and then let it sit and ferment/rot for a couple days till it starts foaming.. then they wash it off cook it again and put beans in it and a coloring thats brown/pinkish color.. but it was sour and nasty.. i wish yall could try it.. it was nasty and burning hot too.. it was not a fun experience.. it didnt give me boo though but it made my comp more sick in the stomach.. it was terrible rotted corn with beans in it.. the most sickest drink ever! also until last week it hadnt rained in carcha for quite a while so all the qeqchis were out in the river washing their clothes.. also we did service a lot last week cause not many people were in there houses cause of the holy week.. i cut with a maschetti for 3 hours and i had 5 blisters on my hand it hurt like crazy!!!! so with the holy week we had an ok week.. a lot of people went to visit family members and do other stuff so they werent in there houses.. also i called luis last week and he was happy and i talked to him and carmen.. they both are still going to church and doing good.. i miss them a lot cause that was the coolest family ive found in all my mission.. but i call them everyonce in a while to make sure they are doing good and still going to church.. we had a cool lesson last week with an inactive kid whose 13.. we talked about the priesthood and the importance he has as a deacon the aaronic preisthood.. we both shared personal experiences and testimonies and i think he felt needed and could see the importance he has as a preisthood holder. .we gave service with his family later on and his mom and brother and little sisters came to church. but little by little they are coming back to church which is awesome.. here is a pic of our district this-last change.. eugenio also this week told us he has a testimony of joseph smith now and the church.. he also started to cry when he talked about baptism and how his dad told him he needed to get baptized.. we watched the joseph smith movie with him and that helped him know that he was a prophet.. he just cant get baptized cause he works still on sundays.. its crappy but it was really neat to hear his testimony and he still goes to institute.. also i read in the magazine last week about Rebecca Swaine a pioneer who helped settle smithfield and died there.. it was really cool and i love hearing stories about pioneers cause it makes me see that my trials are so big-bad.. this week was the holy week for the catholics so here are a few pics of the things they did with there processions and alfombras and no i didnt offend anybody by taking pics.. haha so our investigators are good and we put a baptismal date with victor for may but he has to get married.. we have a lot of people that could get baptized but nobody down here gets married.. its retarded. or they get married then they separate and live with somebody else.. please pray for the investigators though that ive mentioned in other emails..sunday we had two investigators in church but they dont live in carcha so that doesnt really count.. but yeah thats about it.. i love yall a ton and will be talking to yall in not too long.. take care and have a good week!!
Love,
Elder Tyler Hatch
