Dear Fam,


well we had another good week.. i will start my list and tell you how it went.. here are the fotos first though.. here is me and andrea.. she is from the fam. villalobos that we are teaching.. i have a little turtle in my hand.. a picture of our zone.. us and a district.. me and haroldo and andrea and fam.. me and an aggie guy shirt.. and me in the process of eating 4 tamales.. ughh... alright.. on tuesday we did a fast for the zone and for our area.. we focused on finding new investigators.. putting more baptismal dates as an area and zone and getting the members to help us and to get people to church.. it was a good fast and we definitely saw the blessings of doing it later on in the week.. i was grouchy though on weds when we ended.. i realized that its not good to fast when nobody else is fasting because you are the only one who wants to hurry up and go eat.. so yeah.. so we did a baptismal date plan and put it into effect in the zone.. it went well and a lot of areas were able to put baptismal dates with people including us.. it was great and i know our idea wasnt ours but inspired from God.. we have to dates now.. they are both with 9 year old kids though but we are working on putting dates with others too..also this week we recieved 6 references which is the most ive recieved one week in my whole mission.. and they were from three different people.. its really been nice because the ward is starting to catch the missionary spirit and help us out a lot and talk to their friends and share their beliefs with them.. with the fam fetzer we are still getting them to read and still trying to get them to church.. pray for them though please.. also we are working a lot with fam tercero.. he is going to get baptized the 4 of december.. the family is really changing and wanting to go to church and the activities and raise their kids up in the right way.. i visited them last night with a kid and the change in them is awesome.. brandon too the kid at first wouldnt really talk to us but now he is opening up and answering questions and praying.. so please keep them in your prayers too please.. also washington rodrigues has a date for the 24.. thatll be more work though because they are going on vacations for two weeks.. he is 9 too and wants to do it but still needs to learn a lot and go to church more.. dalia a 15 year old girl that was a reference given to us has now gone to church twice and she likes it a lot.. her parents dont really want anything but support her in going to our church.. so thats good and she is reading and already has a lot of friends in church.. the fam villalobos is doing good too but still werent in church this sunday.. we put a ´´contract´¨ with them though to keep the word of wisdom.. they are doing good and the mom has stopped drinking coffee for a week even though she gets headaches from not drinking it.. we gave her a substitute though and they are doing good.. we are going to work this week on strengthening their testimonies about the bom and the prophet joseph smith.. please remember to pray for them too.. on sat i ate 5 tamales.. that was way too many and i thought i was going to explode.. it was not fun and im not exciting for christmas because we will get a ton on the 24 and 25th.. we had stake conference on sunday.. it was good and was broadcasted all throughout guatemala.. it was good and pres uchtdorf talked along with elder holland and clark.. it was really good and it was sick hearing elder holland speak spanish.. haha it made my day.. well i learned a lot from that and they talked about how we need to do 4 things everyday.. pray read the scriptures.. smile and be worthy to go to the temple.. i saw carcha families there too and that was cool.. the change ended too yesterday and im staying with my comp which im excited about because i like the zone and want to have christmas here in coban.. well 11 missionaries are leaving the zone and so the zone is going to be really different.. im excited to see who they are though and hopefully they are good missionaries and hard workers... this week is going to be tiring though and without a lot of sleep.. well i love yall a lot and hope yall have a great week.. take care and always remember to do the little things and smile.. because you can brighten up peoples day like that and make people have a change in their days.. love yall take care and be good and happy thanksgiving!!

Dear fam..


well today i really dont have anytime at all to write yall.. ill make it a quick email though and i also forgot to make a list of what i was going to say so itll probably be just a bunch of scattered thoughts.. thanks for all the emails though and the happy bdays.. dang im getting old huh? haha i dont feel like it.. well so last week was kind of crazy.. on tues the assistants told us that we had to make a list of all the wards and branches and stakes with their attendance in sac meeting for all of 2011.. which sounds easy but none of that info is in the computer so we did that for about 3 hours making it into a excel worksheet.. it was not very fun and i let the aps know that i wasnt very happy about it.. haha i dont know if thats good or bad but if i dont like things anymore i tell it how it is.. i think its a good thing because i used to be just way to nice when i didnt agree with things.. umm that night though we put a baptismal date with dalia... that was good and her parents are supported of her even thought they dont really want to go church.. anyway she needs to go to church though 5 more times before she can get baptized.. and thatll be pushing my gonig home date... anyway we found out changes last night.. a few people in our zone are going to be changed but me and my comp are staying together.. so im happy to be finishing here in zone coban.. i will have more then a year being here when i go home.. anyway this week will be crazy with a bunch of missionaries in the house and waking up early to take them to the bus stop. umm anway yeah thats about it.. we cleaned the house this week.. then i did divisions in tanchi and that was fun because it is kind of in the boonies... anyway i gave a talk on sunday and that was good.. then we had 4 investigators in church.. and yeah thats about it.. well take care and i love yall..

Dear Fam,


whats up? time is flying by and we are already half way throught this change.. things are going really well though and we as of right now have 4 baptisms planned for my last weekend in the mission.. so if everything goes well thatd be a really nice way to end the mission.. anway thing are going well and here goes my list for the week... alright well on monday we had a couple family home evenings.. one was funny because we went with a couple and their son who just got back from his mission like a month ago.. after we finished the lesson they were bashing on him saying how they wanted him to study but he didnt want to because he couldnt sign up for the courses he wanted in time and they were like we are looking out for your future and he was just like i want to wait till next year.. haha i hope yall dont try to force me to do things.. tuesday was good and we are still working with the fam estupe who needs to get a divorce then married.. but then then marriage isnt functioning.. that was a special lesson.. haha i dont know if its better that they stay together or seperate cause they arent happy.. im so sick of dang marriage problems.. on tuesday too there were a lot of changes because 7 new misisonaries came in from mexico so we had a bunch of commotion that day and i was running around with those elders trying to send them off get them fed and yeah it was a crazy day..weds we woke up at 345 then at 530 to send more missionaries out.. i was tired that day and am glad that was the last time i need to worry about sending off missionaries and picking them up.. that day wasnt the best either because that was the worst day of the cold i had last week.. anway that night though we went with another family without priesthood holder there and we gave like 10 back to school and comfort blessings.. that was neat to do again.. thurs we had zone conference and that was really good.. i learned how to better work with members and how to solve some of the common challenges that we have as missionaries and problems our investigators have.. also hna watts talked about how to measure our progress and growth in the way we treat others, especially those we interact with frequently.. jaime herreras dad is drinking again and that was sad to see.. they werent in church again yesterday and we gave him a blessing and a BOM to keep in his taxi when the temptaions hit him.. its sad though and we are trying to help him.. its just hard to overcome alcoholism.. alan the 23 year old has a baptismal date for the 11 of Feb.. he was in church yesterday and is reading and doing really well.. he really has been prepared and is turning his life around and understanding everything we teach him.. the fam villalobos too is doing well.. the dad was in church yesterday.. he is doing well and they are still reading and tommorow we are going to do a special fast with them with the purpose of them obtaining an answer about Joseph smith the Bom and the church.. the dad though is doing really well and said he wants to complete with the things in the church.. he came without his wife and was like personally i want to do things right.. wendy and washington are progressing little by little... i feel bad for her as a single mom but shes got to get her kids in church if she wants to see a change in them a change in her home and a change in her own life.. the bisphop went with my comp last night to visit her and things are looking up and she wants to change.. washington has a date for the 11 of feb too.. dunia and shaily are doing well too.. they were in church yesterday and it mostly with kids depends on their parents and sis. dunia is doing well and helping her daughter out a lot.. olivia and her aunt are doing well too.. olivia is a cute little girl and helping her aunt become active again and helping her aunt read the scriptures.. she is really excited to get baptized.. we just need to get her moms signature who lives a little ways away... the fam tercero too is struggling again after being in church yesterday. .the mom was making and selling tortillas when we got their.. i was mad and when we talked with the dad and kids i was like..¨your wife should not be selling tortillas because she is not keeping the sabbath day holy¨ then he tried to explain to me why and how they were going to hire somebody else to work sundays for her.. and i said you cant do that either!! stupid stupid stupid.. haha we are going to visit them this week and let them have it or give cincho as we say.. cincho means belt.. because they no better and yeah we are really going to let them have it because they are going to screw up their kids lives by giving them bad examples and not being in church on sunday!!! anyway im doing good and last week too we had 15 lessons with member.. they are helping us out a lot and the communication between us and the leaders is becoming better and smoother and the ward and missionary work is getting a lot better.. anyway i love yall a ton.. dont be missing me too much ill be home before yall know it :P haha but it doesnt even seem like ill be going home.. its a really weird feeling.. anway love yall and thanks for the emails!!!

Dear Fam..


Well i dont have a whole lot of time but here goes my list and email for the week.. so visiting my first area last week was awesome.. all 5 of my converts though have moved out of the area though so that was sad that i couldnt see any of them.. my maria fernanda and sergio are still doing well.. that is the couple i got married.. she was a counselor in the YW for a while so that was cool to hear.. i visited a lot of famlies and they were excited to see me and happy that i hadnt forgot about them.. i found three kids contacting and got them to church their and they were all baptized now and all doing well in the church.. they were exciting to see me and it was really exciting to see the fruits of my labor.. our meeting with pres watts was good and we learned a lot.. a lot was focused on a plan we need to put into effect in our wards that was given my elder parry of the 12 apostles.. we are doing it little by little and my and my comp were able to feel the spirit and recieve some really good ideas on how to put it into use in our ward and in the whole zone.. it is a big thing to do but we broke it down into four week and we are going to do it little by little so its not such a daunting task.. hopefully it turns out welll though because working more efficiently with members is the key to having more success.. we also talked about having the faith to baptize 4 a month.. i think we will be able to do that next month and before i come home.. because we have some really good possiblities that im going to tell yall about and we are super excited about them.. elder allen the elder i trained is a zone leader now.. he is a good missionary and it was fun to see him last mon and tues.. he is doing really well and already has almost 15 months!! thanks jen and joc for the packages yall sent me.. they were awesome and i loved the pics.. on weds when we left i prayed thatd wed find a fam and in the first lesson we did.. that was a neat experience cause our prayer and desire was almost answered immetiately.. i know that God answers our prayers.. not always that fast but He does in His form and in the right time.. a lady named dunia this week told us that she was to have her daughter get baptized and her daughter is 10 and has the same desire.. so we put a baptismal date with her and we have the date for the 10 of feb.. so that was exciting and came out of no where.. we found another family too.. the couples names are leopoldo and carmen.. we taught them about the Bom and they understood it perfectly and they understood about the prophet and the organization of the church..it was really neat and they are prepared.. they need to get married though but seem to be ready to recieve the gospel.. the fam villalobos too are doing well. they arent leaving coban so that was answer to our prayers and fast.. they didnt come to church though and they seem a little down.. we are working though with them and they have baptism in mind we just need to work really hard on their testimonies of the BOM and Joseph Smith..please remember them in yalls prayers..alan the 22 year old was in church again and doing really well.. he says his parents support him going to church and he is still reading the BOM and progressing.. this week we are going to put a baptismal date with him.. we went exploring kind of on fri.. it was fun and we got to know our area more and we taught two lessons and had kids from the ward help us.. it was fun and i have some cool pics of where we went.. the two 9 year olds we baptized were both in church yesterday and they seem to be doing very well and their families are getting stronger still too.. so that was awesome to see.. we had 16 lessons with member last week.. thats the most ive ever had.. it was awesome and the members and future missionaries are helping us out a ton and we are starting to see a change in our ward and a lot more success in the missionary work.. on sat we taught couple for the first time and then yesterday they were in church.. it was awesome and they liked it a lot.. last week was just tight and the spirit really guided us to people.. we definitely saw Gods hand in the work last week and we were very blessed to find famlilies (3) and other very good possiblities for baptism.. that really was one of the best weeks of my mission.. everything went almost perfect.. yesterday too i gave three blessings to ladies or ym who dont have a priesthood holder in the house.. it was really nice to be able to help them and give them blessings of health and comfort.. i really have taken for granted having dad in the house always there to give us blessings whe n we needed them.. anyway love yall a lot and take care.. im still focused but in one month from today i will be with some of yall!!!

dear fam,


well right now im in the capital again and in colombia my first area in the mission.. im going to go visit some people tonight that i know and say hi and bye to them.. i just saw a kid that i found contacting and he has been a member now for over a year and in about a year and a part he is going to go on a mission!! haha its so exciting to see that!! anyway here goes my list for the week.. anyway so on monday we visited this guy who went to church for the last time last week.. he was really receptive and we put a baptismal date with him and he said he wanted to do it.. turns out though that his girlfriend who brought him is a member and they met on the internet and he is 15 years older then him.. and he is kind of a creeper or sketchy guy and he wanted to marry her without knowing her for a full months.. so something that we thought was really good.. is not.. haha and so yeah we will probably not ever see him again cause they are going to break up.. tues was a good day and we had 3 lessons with member and that was good.. then we started recieving all the missionaries with changes.. on weds we woke up at 115 am to send them out.. it was freeeezing cold.. like down into the forties with a wicked wind chill.. alot of last week was like that.. anyway the guy at the bus station was a retard to us and charged us a lot extra because he was just making the charge up.. i let him have it though to keep it short and im sick of people trying to walk over me and us as missionaries.. my patience with those people is low now.. umm yet elder lusty came though and stayed at our house on weds.. that was cool and he bought me lasagna for my birhtday so that was cool.. then thurs we woke up early and helped missionaries out again.. and that was my bday.. it went like this.. i had arrigamortis so that was not fun.. then two families that we had been teaching for a bit told us straight up that they didnt want anything.. also more of our appointments fell and we found out that the villalobos might stay in another town and not return to coban.. and when we walked into the house to talk to the dad carlos.. he had been smoking.. then yeah it was a crappy day and i was tired and felt like crying at the end of it.. haha but i didnt.. i bought cheesecake though and that was definitely the hightlight of my bday.. but fri sat and sun were a lot better.. elder nelson bought me subway on fri for my bday and we found out that the villalobos might be coming back.. we are fasting and praying that they will.. carlos says he wants to reach the celestial kingdom so hes going to stop drinking and smoking and stop drinknig coffee too.. so thats good.. jaimes fam.. the herrera went to church again and paid their fast offereing.. they are doing really good and the dad has a few weeks now without drinkning.. although the members references theyve given us haven been the best we had 3 invest in church yesterday that were all brought by members.. so that was exciting and there is a 22 year old named alan who is really interested and is reading the BOM and thinks its true.. he is cool and i see a lot of potencial in him because he already has support and is doing the basic stuff.. on friday 4 or 5 different times people made a joke about giving us coffee or beer.. they deserve a swift kick to yall know were.. umm yeah thats about it.. things were going bad on thurs. but they are looking up now.. im happy to go visit some people tonight here and things in our area are looking up..oh yeah dalia is moved now and not a possibility but washington is still okay but we are going to run his baptismal date back to the last sunday of this month.. anyway i love yall and pray for yall often and incluided yall in my prayers.. take care and have a great week.. write me back please and help keep me motivated and going cause its going to get harder as this change goes on to not think about home and get unfocused.. love yall though and have a great week.. never go a day without praying and reading the scriptures becaue that we help us recieve eternal life and be exalted!

Hey family


well we had another great week.. things went really well and all of our planned baptisms for the 11 of feb are still looking really well.. anyway so dunia and shaily seem to be doing really well.. sis dunia is divorced and only has her kids every other weekend but she was in church yesterday and her daughter shaily is doing really well and learning a lot and understanding well.. tonight we have a family home evening that we are going to do with them... shaily just needs to go this sunday so that she can be baptized on the 11th.. on tues we had a cool experience.. everything we had planned to do in the morning fell but i saw this street that i felt that we should contact cause we had never entered in there before..so we did and we found a less active lady who hadnt gone to church for about 5 years and we had no clue that she lived there.. we taught her last week and we painted some of her house on sat.. it was really fun and we are going to start teaching her grandaughter who is not a member but had gone to church for a while.. there is a pic of us with the breakfast the lady gave us.. it was good with beans and eggs and crapes.. it was a neat experience where the spirit guided me and us to that street.. on tues we did a fast with the family villalobos.. it went really well and they could feel the spirit and their testimony about the BOM and joseph smith is growing greatly.. they really are starting to love the BOM and are feasting upon its words.. they really have baptism in their minds now.. they just need to make the decision and do it.. because they are pretty close to being ready but they think they need to know a whole lot.. when really thats not necessary...they really have felt the spirit and realizes that a lot of the things in the catholic church are not right where they used to go.. anyway it was an awesome fast and thanks for all yalls prayers..washington and wendy are doing well.. they were in church all three hours yesterday.. that was really good and they are starting to understand things really well and see the blessings they are recieving for reading and going to church.. alan too is doing well.. we taught him a couple times last week with just us and with out all his member friends.. it went well and about a year ago he was really involved in drug traficking.. he has been out of it for a year now but he was the driver for some of the things the drug lords did here in coban.. anyway so we have been talking to pres and seeing whether or not pres needs to come and interview him or not cause he has never taken anybodies life but he has seen some bad things.. anyway he has completely changed though and is in church every sunday and reading the BOM and feels a really warm and comforting feeling while he reads it.. anwyay so he is doing good and is repentant of what he did in the past...olivia is doing well too.. she loves being in church and continues to help her aunt our a lot with spiritual things like reading and praying and going to church.. please pray though that we will be able to get her moms signature though so she can get baptized. . the mom lives in a villiage a long ways away and we need to get her signature or she cant be baptized.. missionaries there are going to see if they can find her though.. on sat we went to a baptism that didnt happen the girls dad was going to baptize her but when the girl got into the water she started to cry because it was cold.. and she has a breathing problem and didnt get baptized.. i felt bad for her.. but yeah alan was there but he understood everything though and we joked with him saying that we hope he doesnt cry when he gets baptized.. anyway yeah.. yesterday a members dog followed my comp and i to church.. it kept coming into the sacrament room and id scare it out.. but then right before the sac prayer it snuck in and hid underneath the benches and wouldnt leave.. we ended the song and we still couldnt get him out.. haha it was pretty funny but finally we got him out and the sacrament was blessed and passed.. anyway last week was awesome.. we taught 35 lessons and helped out a ton of people... we helped out a lot of less actives to go to church too.. i really do love this work and know its the work of the Lord... im going to miss it but im taking advantage of this last change.. its been great and hopefully we end up baptizing all 4 of those people on my last saturday here.. anyway i love yall a ton and here are some pics.. the third one i think has allan in it.. love yall and have a great week!!
